We can called Sanath Jaysurya as a lion of Sri Lanka. He has been retired from test cricket. He is the player who changes the theme of one day cricket. He is one of the greatest all rounder from Sri Lanka. He plays 109 test matches and made 6885 runs with the average of 40.02 and in one day cricket he plays 403 matches and made a 12207 runs also takes 307 wickets. He is not retired from one day cricket so his one day record will still improved.
1996 world cup is known as a Jaysurya's world cup. he is responsible for ending the career of Manoj Prabhakar who is good swing bowler. In world cup cup match against Sri Lanka his ending deliveries was off spinners. He did not have the confidence to bowl his swinging deliveries.Jaysurya and Kaluvitharana changes the one day game. One day cricket becomes much more attacking than earlier.
